Dec 30, Cindy Newton rated it liked it Shelves: But nothing too impressive. All may not be as Jessica and her fellow midnighters have been led to believe, and something huge may be lurking on the horizon.
Rex and Melissa are finding love an “Touching Darkness” follows up on “Midnighters” almost immediately. View all 3 comments.
Speaking of couples though, I really enjoyed reading about the first touchingly tremulant moments that Rex and Melissa spent together, closer. In Touching Darkness though it is slightly better Some should stay hidden. My favorite is still Jonathan. The writing is fine, the plot moves along well, there are several tense situations and last-minute rescues, and the antagonists are creepy. Three thirteen letter phrases. He’s the best, and I loved how this book ended.
I’m not complaining, but I’m also surprised. Jan 01, Jessica rated it liked it Shelves: It moved along much quicker, so I was able to get into it easier.

I felt horrible for Rex though, his father was so sick minded! Maybe he’s trying to protect her since he’s really the only one she can call a “friend”. The Secret Hour, Jessica Day is still getting use to life in her new school and life in the secret hour, but at least she can protect herself with her new found powers, bringing fire into the Blue Time.
Just think of the geographical and verbal mathematics that can save your life during the secret hour Not in the can’t-finish-at-all sense its crazy easy to read, like most of Westerfeld’s worksbut in the sense of plot and characters.
Following the conclusion of the first book, Midnighter: I liked getting to know more about each of the characters here. Really makes you think and imparts the desire to read further! As well as the little glimpses into their past Why does everyone treat Melissa like crap?
Jessica and Jonathan realise that others, normal people, knew about them and are stalking westerfed. And so do Jess and I love it!
